Time for apple cider, football, sweaters and… year-end financial planning?

Yes, indeed! Fall in Central Pennsylvania is one of the most beautiful times of the year. It is our second favorite season, only to summer. The cooler temperatures of fall not only bring breathtaking foliage, corn mazes and plenty of pumpkin spice but they indicate that winter is coming and with that, year’s end.

For many, this time of year signifies the start of holiday plans. Who will be the Thanksgiving hostess with the most-est? Who will be bringing the candied yams? Who has finally been promoted from the kids’ table? Some of us even start our Christmas shopping or, like some moms, have already finished. So much preparation goes into making the holidays special (quite rightly so!) but how much time and effort goes into reviewing your personal finances every year?

While we can all agree that reviewing your fiscal fitness is not nearly as delightful as a warm apple pie, it is an essential element in your long-term financial well-being. By annually reviewing key aspects of your finances, such as taxes, investments, retirement savings and insurance, you may be able to identify areas for improvement and make impactful changes that have lasting effects.

It may sound like a large task, but a year-end financial assessment doesn’t have to be daunting, and help is available. At Central Penn Wealth Advisors, our team is happy provide you with a checklist to help bring to light key considerations for your finances and the end of year.
